I am honored to have photographed the multidisciplinary performance co-produced with Olivier Besson and Mira Goksel, "Moment’s Notice," in Boston 1st of April, 2023. The salon highlighted improvisations from movement/dance, theater, sound/music, poetry, and visual art with Trisha Zembruski & Lorraine Grosslight (action theater), Daniel Bear Davis (movement/dance), Nate Tucker (sound/music), Hanneke Cassel, and Kieran Jordan (folk fiddle and percussive dance). Improvised dance demonstrates the path unknown and unexpected. Dancers often face unforeseen pathways during the performance, which tests a dancer's skill and musicality. Here, they naturally accumulate and apply all their knowledge in their movement. No one knows what the dancer will do, nor does the dancer. Performers are to provoke a community conversation around the wild possibility inherent in these forms, inviting opportunities for both risk and freedom in performers and audiences alike.
